“Window on Wallingford” has been a much-loved free community magazine at the heart of the town since 1962. Sadly, volunteer support had dwindled over recent years, until the responsibility had fallen on a single person to carry the weight of managing production, publication and distribution of the magazine. Due to the unsustainable operating model, publication of WoW ceased in February 2026.
In recent months a new group of enthusiastic locals with varied skills and expertise have been meeting at Marceline Community Interest Boutique, which has become a welcoming hub for many brainstorming sessions over homemade biscuits. Learning from previous volunteers who managed the magazine for a number of years, we have been planning and plotting to bring this free community magazine back with a vibrant new look and feel.
Whether it’s news and updates from our many fantastic community bodies and organisations, stories about the fascinating people of Wallingford, the latest from our town, district, and county councils, or what’s-ons for all that’s happening, WoW will be covering it.
However a magazine can’t materialise from enthusiasm alone, so we started this campaign to raise £1,500 for the estimated production costs of the relaunch issue.
Any contribution to our Crowdfunder is hugely appreciated to get this issue off the ground!
